Nelson Mountain Parcels
Nestled beneath pristine Nelson Mountain just north of
Creede, these two properties are the definition of off-the-grid mountain
privacy. Huge spruce and pine trees tower over each potential building
site, offering cool shade and seclusion. Each of the parcels border National
Forest lands, with instant access to a variety of outdoor recreation.
Hike into Phoenix Park from your property and marvel at the year-round
waterfalls and trout-filled beaver ponds. Backpack from your cabin door
into the La Garita Wilderness Area, or hike up 14,014' San Luis Peak,
where you will experience panoramic views of a remote part of Colorado
that you never knew existed.
Due to the pristine nature of this unique environment, restrictive
covenants allow only small cabins or yurts on each parcel. All properties are-off-the
grid, and require solar or wind generated power if needed. Gasoline generators
are allowed only as an emergency backup energy source (and during construction),
to insure minimum noise pollution and maximum privacy for all owners.
The properties are easily accessed by driving 3 miles from Creede
on a well maintained county road, followed by 1-1/2 miles of 4WD road (about 1/2
mile is steep). The more difficult section of the road enhances the privacy of
the properties by minimizing traffic. Mineral County plows the road from Creede
to the 4WD section in the winter. Each parcel has been recently surveyed and has
several building sites to choose from. Owner financing is available to qualified
purchasers.
